Share Job Apply Now Share Job Job Description David Weekley Homes is seeking an Estimating Manager who will be responsible for on-time and accurate estimating of material quantities to build homes. Primary Functions include: + Manages estimating priorities and schedule + Staff, Lead and Develop estimating team + Maintain estimating standards across the organization + Coordinates with team to understand workload + Liaison with Design Team to maintain consistency of plans and value engineering opportunities + Employs and manages internal and external resources to provide material quantities + Coordinates with divisional and area purchasing to understand and correct estimating-based variance/plan changes + Manages soft cost amounts for communities + Conduct Community Set-up meetings to ensure proper budgets to avoid variance Qualifications + 3-5 Years in Residential Construction Operations + 2+ Years in Construction Purchasing to include estimating, construction, and negotiation + Bachelors Degree in Business, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree + Excellent negotiation skills with demonstrated success in this area + Read and thoroughly understand residential blueprints + Strong math and excel computer skills are essential and exposure to JD Edwards is beneficial + An ideal candidate will also possess the following intangibles: self-directed, readily adaptable to change, disciplined work habits and good organization Additional Information .
