Control Panels USA is seeking an Estimator to join our growing team. The Estimator will be responsible for interfacing with clients to prepare pricing and proposals for projects. The Estimator will be responsible for validating engineered/customer provided designs, and determining cost effective solutions to meet project requirements.

Our regular work schedule is M-F 8AM-4:30PM.
Duties & Responsibilities
+ Discussion of project with customer, facilitating delivery of project information (i.e. plans and specifications).
+ Analysis of project documentation and customer provided information to determine scope, required bill of material for project, and manhours required to complete.
+ Preparation of the proposal and cost estimate for each project.
+ Contacting vendors to secure component pricing and select appropriate solutions to accommodate customer needs.
+ Select equipment necessary to meet project requirements while maximizing project margin. This includes looking for alternative equipment options, finding ‘or equal’ equipment at a lower cost, etc.
+ Ensure project requirements, expectations, and deadlines are met for all requests for proposals.
+ Contact customers to inquire about upcoming bids and pricing needs.
+ Contact customers post bid to find results and ascertain any other information regarding bid award
+ Assist in the development and aid in maintaining marketing material including but not limited to Company Qualification Booklet, Company Brochures, and other Customer required supporting documentation.
+ Assist in development and aid in maintaining customer specific documentation including but not limited to Pricing Sheets, Order Forms, and Product Cut Sheets.
+ Maintain good relations with clients and vendors.
+ Interface with Marketing Director to pursue new and existing customer project opportunities.
+ Interface with Reps to pursue new and existing customer project opportunities.
+ Search plan sites and city websites to find bid opportunities.
+ Interface with customers or engineers to get clarifications on projects, this may include written Requests for Information.
+ Interface with Project Manager, to transfer project information including customer expectations and preferences. Also, after project completion) discuss with project manager about project specific challenges and omissions, so that these can be factored into future proposals.
+ Employ strategic pricing tactics based on project size, customer interest, competition, and other market factors.
+ Critically analyze project scope requirements and generate project specific exceptions and assumptions.
+ Attendance of tradeshows and manning of company exhibit, including meeting and greeting of potential customers and vendors. Booth setup is also required.
+ Project manager responsibilities for equipment only projects.
+ Go on site visits for customers requiring on site assessment or design assistance.
+ Attend pre-bid meetings and project walk throughs.
+ Interface with customers to procure proper purchase documentation (i.e. Work Order or Purchase Order)
+ Maintain professional and knowledgeable demeanor in the presence of customers
+ Any other task, assignments, duty, or projects, as requested by management
Desired Skills & Experience:
+ 1-3 years of experience with electrical controls, automation equipment, panel design, and/or installation or 1-3 years inside sales in electrical automation equipment, design, or installation.
+ Ability to understand specifications, contract drawings, budgets, schedules and wiring of schematics.
+ Have strong verbal communication and writing skills.
+ High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
+ Strong time management & planning skills
+ Ability to bid and write proposals.
+ Computer and proficient with Microsoft Office
+ Project Management experience in control panels, fabrication and field I&C a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, sit and stand. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
