Job Title: Estimator

Job Description

The Estimator works closely with the entire team to create job estimates that meet the client’s budgetary goals and the company’s fiscal objectives. The Estimator’s main functions include determining the scope of work on Request for Proposals, coordinating raw material volumes and costs along with any 3rd party supplier pricing, combining with internal labor hours to build finished components, and creating a project estimate for review and validation.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Working closely with project managers, purchasing, and shop management to fully understand project realities and alternatives to achieve the expected deliverables

• Developing accurate job cost estimates by analyzing blueprints, understanding client goals, and compiling material, labor, subcontract, installation, freight, and overhead costs

• Capturing and cataloging results for use and comparisons in future estimating requests

• Categorizing and presenting materials for kickoff meetings by communicating job cost assumptions and plans to Purchasing, Project Managers, and Shop Foremen

• Interacting with the purchasing and production group to review material choices and alternatives

• Developing quality and value-engineering opportunities with the engineering and production departments

• Building material and labor routers

Hard Skills1-5 plus years of experience in client-facing project management within the store fixtures, millwork, casework, or building construction industryMinimum of 3 years of management experience, previous leadership roleAbility to read architectural drawings for understanding of interior finishes and millwork needsMicrosoft skills, including intermediate level analysis in ExcelJob Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Canton, Ohio.

Work Environment

Work with customers at different locations and build relationships. Projects typically last 8-12 weeks, though some could be as short as 6 weeks. The role involves taking paperwork and transferring it to quotes, working with engineers and the production team to determine when materials need to arrive, and managing clients. The position offers hybrid flexibility. The manufacturing floor is very clean, and the office space resembles a showroom with custom wood paneling, tables, and industrial fixtures. The office overlooks the production floor with floor-to-ceiling windows. The role may occasionally require working on a few Saturdays.
