This will include master quotes, process documentation, specifications, working knowledge and experience of Boyd Corporation products and processes. This position will work with the production team and vendors to obtain information to determine the cost of a plan using system to quote.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Gather information necessary to prepare quotes for producing parts for Boyd Corporation customers; follow up with revisions as needed and ensure adherence to the company work instructions for quoting. Work with Production & Quality teams to problem solve troubled jobs, determine solutions, and update quotes as needed. When quoting, ensure thorough review of various customer, government, military, & industry standards to make sure that the parts meet the specifications the customer has referenced and are within the capabilities of the company. When parts cannot meet, provide detailed notes explaining technically why, and then quote the closest alternative materials and/or processes and provide details as to why our suggested alternatives should be the most effective solution. Incorporate new requirements into the quote, which involves compiling the relevant technical info, condensing it to written work instructions in the quote. Determine if the customer drawings are adequate for use in our plant. If they lack the necessary detail, work to resolve any discrepancies in a timely and accurate timeframe. Work with CAD department lead or other members to quote the in-house drawings ensuring our established standards and specifications needs are met and achievable. Maintain checklists listing all the items that need special attention and what is required to meet these requirements. Use the checklists to make sure each quote has the latest updates for each customer, from both the customer and Boyd. Implement the latest customer specification changes for both materials & processes in line with the company’s established procedures and protocols. Consult and work with all internal departments and team members including production staff, production control, purchasing, and sales as needed to explore details, ideas, and problem solving. This includes working within the established Change Control process. Frequently visit the plant and other departments to help solve manufacturing problems as well as learn about potential roadblocks or hurdles we could encounter in advance of a quote.
