We are privately held American owned Small Business made up of five (5) vertically integrated manufacturing and assembly divisions, each with their own history, specializations and products.
We are looking for dependable, fast paced, hard-working individuals with experience as a Estimator with the following qualifications and experience:
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Individual in this fast-paced position has the primary responsibility to plan, log, monitor, and deliver accurate and efficient quotations for the company's existing and prospective customer base.
The estimator reports to the General Manager and President, works closely with external and internal customers and interfaces with personnel across all departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain a log of all customer requests for quote.
• Research and identify any historical pricing or build data related to RFQ (Request For Quote) part numbers.
• Create and administer electronic quote folders containing all data related to an RFQ.
• Assist in developing quotations inclusive of all customer requirements and internal resources needed while satisfying engineering and quality requirements.
• Provide follow-up cost analysis on key parts / projects to support the continuous improvement of the company’s estimating process.
• Prepares cost analysis of assembly part number by identifying and calculating materials, labor, equipment, tooling, subcontractor and overhead cost incurred.
• Develop and maintain a technically proficient understanding of the company’s processing capabilities as well as our quality system, general procedures and applicable industry standard specifications.
• Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starting individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks with consistency and accuracy, often under pressure and/or short deadlines.
• Work with vendors and negotiate to get best pricing and lead time possible for required material.
• Research and identify new sources on finding an alternate for obsolete material.
• Work closely with customers to understand product / part specification and respond promptly to in-depth customer questions and inquiries.
• Provide follow-up on pending material quotes from vendors to complete RFQ.
• Follow-up on customer’s RFQ status for approval or withdrawn.
• Verify internal inventory from stockroom and / or Customer Furnished Material to add to RFQ.
• The Estimator is responsible for estimating aerospace tooling labor and material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request data submitted by prospective customers.
• The estimator is involved in preparing cost reports and presents findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Uses models, drawings and specification information in customer requests to determine labor, material, process hour and cost estimates for detailed tooling.
Qualification/ Experience:
Education:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Management.
Minimum (3) years estimating (Experience in aerospace industry preferably, defense, contract administration, or automotive industries).
Qualifications Required:
Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power point, and Outlook
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, parts lists, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product specs
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within aerospace industry
Able to identify customer-specific requirements and flowing them down to appropriate departments
Qualification Preferred:
Experience reading, understanding, and administering long term agreements (LTA) and Product Service Agreements (PSA)
Full understanding of ITAR and how to research invoices, payments and debits
Working knowledge of different license types, their application, and how to obtain them
Understanding ITAR requirements for technical data, drawings, and parts etc.
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
