Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is looking for an Estimator in Fridley, MN to help serve our customers’ needs.
Your Responsibilities:
Facilitate pricing activities including standard transactional estimates as well as RFP’sReview and prepare response to RFP’s and large direct opportunities by gathering details and compiling data for all production cost according to specificationsCollaborate with Sales Management and Operation Center to develop appropriate proposals and pricing based upon understanding production capabilities and the needs of the customer and the companyCreate Excel workbooks for summarizing and presenting costs, markups and vendor comparisonsSupport departmental initiatives and continually look for ways to improve performance against our department metrics / KPI’sParticipate in continuous improvement efforts to ensure that we are utilizing best practices across the departmentServe as a project leader for special or on-going projects that are important to the success of the department/organizationSet the standard for developing appropriate and effective working relationships with Sales Management, BDMs, Sales Representatives, and vendorsWork with Strategic Sourcing, Corporate IT, Marketing, and e-Business to support e-commerce requirementsPerform system upkeep as needed and collaborate with others for updates that we’re not able to make ourselvesReviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracyResearch product to ensure product knowledge as well as best avenue for vendor pricingHelps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraintsYou Must Have:
Minimum educational requirement is a High School Diploma or GED; College Degree preferredAdvanced negotiation skills and knowledge of press capabilities and printing processesExcellent comprehension and communication skillsAbility to coordinate multiple tasks and projects, detail orientedAbility to be proactive in problem solvingAbility to work independently exercising a high degree of autonomy and discretionRelies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsAbility to write reports and business correspondence and use appropriate grammar and vocabularyAbility to effectively respond to questions from management, customers, sales representatives, and employeesWe Would Also Prefer:
Estimating experience, preferably in the printing industry or equivalentExtensive knowledge of supplier and partner capabilities and strengthsFamiliar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field; published mark-up schedule and the ‘cost’ pricing structure, factors such as material cost, spoilage, etcExpert in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft office tools and File Management
