**Job Title: Estimator**
**Job Description**
The Fabrication Shop Estimator is responsible for collecting and compiling requests for quotes from external and internal customers and works closely with shop management. The Estimator reviews the details, scope, drawings, quality demands, and timelines of the customer’s requirements.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepare estimates for the manufacture of simple to complex parts, components, and assemblies including material, labor, and quality requirements.
+ Review and clearly understand customer scope, specifications, and required quality standards.
+ Gather pricing from external service providers (i.e. non-destructive testing, paint, and plating shops).
+ Estimate labor required for manufacturing, including fitting and welding operations, sheet metal cutting and forming, and mechanical assembly for custom fabrications as well as low volume production runs.
+ Work with sales, engineering, and customers to develop solutions to properly estimate the component; finalize and submit quotations to customers.
+ Develop manufacturing process steps in conjunction with supervisors and planners; estimate labor run times to support that process.
+ Participate in establishing selling prices and policies to support the department business plan.
+ Work with the manufacturing team to develop the most cost-effective processes.
+ Maintain supporting relationships with internal and external teams.
+ Advise on methods and processes used in the pre-production meetings as needed.
+ Search out vendors and subcontractors required to support business needs.
+ Maintain and update quoting standards.
**Essential Skills**
+ Fabrication experience and knowledge of GD&T.
+ Experience in estimation and bidding.
+ Familiar with metal fabrication, sheet metal processing, welding processes, as well as blueprint reading.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
+ Working knowledge of manufacturing ERP software (JobBoss2 or equivalent).
+ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
+ Strong ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Post-secondary education or tradesperson with industry experience.
+ Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in the steel fabrication industry or equivalent industry experience.
+ Experience in the Aerospace and Defense ground support equipment and flight hardware industry considered a plus.
+ Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD a plus.
+ Experience working in ISO9001 and/or AS9100 environment a strong plus.

**Work Environment**
First shift from 7:00 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday to Friday.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Hartselle, Alabama.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $85000.00
