Job Description
Our construction subcontractor client is seeking an estimator to join their team. This person will work closely with the Sr. Estimator and Estimator and be responsible for the management of project related jobs across various construction sectors.
ResponsibilitiesCommunicate concisely with multiple customers in a bid meeting environment.Create project estimates and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids.Perform material take-off and quantity survey.Develop material and subcontract pricing for estimates.Produce complete estimates for final approval incorporating quantity take off, labor standards, subcontract, and materials pricing.Evaluate contract changes for estimating cost impact.Measure estimate vs. actual performance evaluations.Essential SkillsExperience in construction estimating, either from a subcontractor or general contractor.MUST have experience doing takeoffs.Thorough knowledge of construction estimating and project management.Ability to read and understand various types of project drawings and specifications.Proficient with Microsoft Office.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management.Experience with bidding and estimating software.Experience in commercial construction.Understanding of Bluebeam takeoff software.Would consider someone close to graduation for construction related degree who can work 30+ hours/week and has understanding of how to do takeoffs.Work Environment
This person will be onsite in their Warren office 5 days/week with occasional travel to job sites as needed and a company vehicle provided for travel. After the probationary period, they are open to offering 1 day of work from home. The role involves working on standardized projects ranging in size from $1,000-$10 Million, including sports stadiums and notable projects like the Gordie Howe Bridge.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00
