Job Description
We are searching for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to advise on the foreseeable costs of our major developments. This role will be 95% remote, with occasional travel to HQ or New York as needed. The ideal candidate will have some site civil experience, as we are looking to start a site civil division in the near future. The Construction Estimator will obtain all relevant project specifications, determine the most appropriate building materials, and secure favorable prices on all resources. You should also inspect trends in construction to ensure that your estimates are both reasonable and competitive. A successful candidate will be able to translate project requirements into concrete figures with ease and adhere to financial constraints without compromising on our high standards.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand project scope and goals.Obtain and analyze quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.Evaluate and quantify labor, material, and equipment costs for construction projects.Prepare detailed and competitive bid proposals.Stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and market conditions.Assist in negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry.Strong analytical and mathematical skills.Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs.Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with site civil construction is highly desirable.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Work Environment
The position is primarily remote with occasional travel required to the headquarters or New York. Our company is progressive and values innovation in project completion. We offer 100% covered benefits, all travel costs covered, hybrid/remote work options, vehicle allowances, large bonuses after one year, and a brand new company truck if needed after a year or two of employment. We occasionally cover the cost for a significant other to travel with the employee if work is out of town.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00
