Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with 7-10+ years of experience in the plumbing industry and mechanical contracting. The ideal candidate will be a good team player who can lead a team, although there will not be direct reports immediately. The role requires advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software products.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare complete plumbing estimates and proposals from start to finish using the latest estimating platforms.Establish project estimating databases, perform take-offs, solicit vendor and subcontractor quotes, recap estimates, and prepare proposal letters with qualifications/exclusions as applicable.Prepare project proposals/presentations showcasing the company's capabilities, such as coordination and engineering, and demonstrate specific understanding of the projects pursued.Provide guidance and oversight to support staff as necessary for project estimates and proposals.Identify and manage client entertainment based on work opportunities, aligning with business goals and objectives.Pursue business opportunities with existing and new customers selectively.Review project proposals to determine scheduling, funding limitations, alternate means and methods, procedures for design, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.Ensure fairness and integrity in contract and vendor negotiations when needed.Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and partners.Attend and participate in company and outside sponsored events and business seminars.Essential Skills7-10+ years of experience as a lead estimator in the plumbing industry and mechanical contracting.Ability to lead a team and work effectively as a team player.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and other software products.Experience with plumbing, mechanical, and quickpen.Additional Skills & QualificationsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products and other software products.Experience in estimating, construction, and bidding processes.Work Environment

The San Diego team has a close-knit, family-like culture with around 20-25 people in the office most of the time. The company has a total of 1400 employees, with 75% working in the field. The work environment is characterized by a 'work hard, play hard' attitude. The typical schedule is on-site from 7 AM to 4 PM, with flexibility as needed. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
