Estimator / Business Developer

Insituform Technologies LLC, an Azuria Company, is looking for an experienced Estimator/Business Developer.

Insituform Technologies LLC is a leading worldwide provider of cured-in place pipe (CIPP) and other technologies and services for the rehabilitation of pipeline systems. Insituform’s businesses consist of sewer, drinking water and energy and mining pipeline rehabilitation and protection. The Company provides cost-effective solutions to remediate operational, health, regulatory and environmental problems resulting from aging and defective pipelines. Insituform’s technologies allow its customers to avoid the extraordinary expense and extreme disruption that can result from traditional "dig and replace" methods.   

Position Summary 

The Estimator/BD individual designs, estimates, and manages sewer bypass operations for the Northeast of the United States.   

  

Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities 

Enforces company safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and quality standards. Plans/Specification Interpretation - Procures necessary plans and specifications to determine project needs. Design – Interpret flow data or estimate flow conditions to facilitate bypass design.   Determine pumps to be utilized based on specification. Calculate friction loss, static lift, velocity, NPSH, and system pressures to meet specifications and best practice requirements. Estimate – Attribute durational construction elements and bypass design in conjunction with spec review to determine project valuation. Plan and integrate regional staffing needs with bypass general superintendents to ensure construction schedule is meet. Develop close working relationship with area lining estimators, general superintendence’s, and ops managers. Must be able to coordinate in person site visits. Must be self-motivated enough to be able to work from home or in an office environment.

Education and/or Experience: This position requires a minimum of 4 years of field experience and/or equivalent combination of education. A degree from a 4-year university or equivalent education is preferred.  Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to region management, customers, and the public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to use computers to do routine data entry and calculations. Reasoning Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Interpersonal Skills: Must have strong interpersonal skills and work well alone and as a team.  Must be a strong communicator and be able to take the initiative to function without day-to-day guidance. Computer Skills: Must be comfortable working within Microsoft office applications with a strong emphasis in Excell, Work, Teams and Outlook. Helpful Skills: Knowledge of Traffic Control plans, Gantt and or Construction Schedules.  

 Work Environment:  

In performing the duties for this job, the employee will generally work most of their time in an office setting and at times from hotels.  This will vary based on project location.  Travel by automobile and airplane required.
