We currently have an opportunity for an Estimator – Hard Facilities Management (FM) to join our team. Working closely with the Hard FM Estimation Team Lead you will ensure accurate estimates of the total cost of allocated projects are completed on time, in accordance with required technical standards. The primary responsibility of the Estimator is to prepare accurate tenders and quotations, ensuring their competitiveness within the marketplace whilst safeguarding the company’s profitability. You will be involved in all aspects of proposal pricing, including the identification and inputting of assets, identifying subcontractor requirements and maintaining market rates for different trades within Hard FM as well as providing input into solution development alongside the broader team.
What you’ll do
The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below:
Work in liaison with Commercial Analysts, Business Development Executives and Operations staff to ensure that proposals continue to be priced in accordance with current operating procedures and market conditions. Arrange/attend site visits at client premises to establish an understanding of the assets, estate and requirements, analysis of conditions, assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in the tender documents. Attend and contribute to internal tender / bid meetings in order to develop a tender strategy. Develop and refine estimating process to improve efficiency, clarity and accuracy. Plan workload and deliver to deadlines. Engage with subcontractors and the broader market to secure quotations which are accurate and competitive.What you’ll bring
A positive attitude with a willingness to actively contribute to a supportive and engaging team culture. Tertiary degree qualification in an Engineering stream (ideally). Plans to undertake or complete a post graduate degree of equivalent qualification in an Engineering Stream Experience in business development or tender environment Preparation of complex estimates on various major projects. Negotiating outcomes with operational teams. Preparation of property or FM estimates. Willingness to learn, provide new ideas to streamline and improve automation. Background in relevant trade is beneficial i.e. electrician, plumber, refrigeration, or experience in FM environment.More than anything, you’ll have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a drive to provide high quality outcomes for the Social Infrastructure and Citizen Services business unit and our clients.
