General Summary
Position: Estimator IILocation: 715 Comstock Street, Santa Clara, CA 95054
Responsibilities: Develop accurate and timely estimates for private and public sector works projects. Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location and other factors to ensure a high quality and timeline estimate. Review drawings, specifications and proposed project site conditions. Record findings and solicit input from field operations to include in final project estimate. Utilize existing cost history as a check to complete estimates. Perform accurate quantity “take-off” to ensure accuracy of data used in estimates. Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure understanding of scope of job. Discuss and analyze alternative solutions and construction methods with field supervision and Senior/Chief Estimator to increase competitiveness of the bid. Develop and apply knowledge of bidding risks and strategies. Develop knowledge of and communicate with owners, subcontractors, public and private entities to ensure competitiveness. Comprehend and administer a safety program that provides for a safe work environment that meets or exceeds Granite’s Annual Incident Goal, and foster a culture that expects participation at all levels.
Educ./experience: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, or related field, plus two (2) years of post-baccalaureate experience as an Estimator, Engineer or in a related position. Experience must include hazard identification and risk mitigation, construction risk assessment, quality management, quantity take-off, estimate pricing, construction estimate competitiveness, Building Information Modelling.
Salary: $145,000

Base Salary Range:
$113,929.00 - $170,892.00Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
