Salary Range: $87,000 to $107,000

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. THE ENERGY TEAM
Our Energy Group at CEI builds projects from the field to the grid. Whether it’s a solar, battery storage, substation, EV charging, microgrid, or converter station project, our skilled project managers, engineers, and field employees deliver when it matters most. 

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are offering this exciting opportunity to join our Energy Group working on complex large-scale construction projects and leveraging your estimating experience from Renewable Construction projects. The Estimator will work closely with the Preconstruction team, Project Managers, Purchasing, Engineering, and report to the Director. The Estimator will be responsible for developing and completing Utility scale solar PV and Battery Storage System (BESS) estimates, including self-perform and subcontracted scopes of work.  Estimating includes developing proposal level designs, RFQ and quote evaluation & contractor selection. 

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you are detail-oriented and have extensive knowledge of the following: Knowledge of Civil construction related to utility scale solar PV – grading, hydrology, trenching, etc. You also understand power delivery, including substations and transmissions lines. Lastly, you bring knowledge of engineering scopes, including electrical, structural, civil, civil experts (hydrology, Geotech, etc.), and permitting. You demonstrate outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. You are a team player with a collaborate attitude willing to help others, the team, and the company reach its goals.

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

As an Estimator, you will perform all levels and types of estimating, planning, scheduling, and cost engineering project activities. You’ll be in an environment with skilled colleagues who have diverse expertise and backgrounds. In partnership with those teams, you will get a big-picture overview of how we do our work cross-functionally to ensure the success of our projects. You will manage subcontractor and material vendor relationships, preparing RFQs and evaluating vendor pricing as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. 

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.

Licensure/Certifications: None required.

Experience: Three (3) years of estimating experience in solar PV and managing subcontracts preferred. Experience with design/build and Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC). Experience with Accubid preferred.
