Job Description:
Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented Estimator to join our team. This role will require accurately estimating cost, time, materials, labor, and equipment required for various construction projects. The Estimator must perform cost analyses, determine the duration of a project, support in procurement of vendors and subcontractors, and ensure that resources are managed, and deadlines are met.
What You'll Be Doing:
Determining the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for construction projects.Conducts initial analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required documentation is present and determine scope of work.Preparing estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work.Support the Bid Evaluation Team to critically analyze bid documents and understand risk and opportunities and articulate those to management.Participate in technical proposals for Alternative Delivery projects.Researching construction documents and analyzing specifications.Provide detailed quantity take off of specific trades when required.Solicits and analyzes subcontractor and vendor pricing input when required.Develops unit costs accurately.Performs technical / plan review when required.Accurately assesses and plans takeoff workload.Gathers and monitors actual cost vs. estimated cost, maintaining project cost history.Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, Contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.Regularly reporting to Management and keeping clients updated on the project status.Formulating contingency plans and effectively managing risks that might impact cost and time estimates.Keeping track of the latest estimating technology and industry-related techniques.What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in civil or architectural engineering, construction management, or an equivalent degree.Minimum 3 years of experience in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.Knowledgeable of the following: Infrastructure, civil/site construction, MEP systems, Residential and Buildings construction, interior and exterior finishing, foundation and structural systems, industrial projects and landscapingAble to manage multiple projects concurrently with ability to multitask.Knowledge and efficiency in the following Software: Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook), AutoCAD 3D, Takeoff / Estimating SoftwareStrong computer skills including the ability to use estimating software, spread sheets, bid management, online plan rooms and database applications.What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
