Estimator - Shaw Sports Turf

Position Overview

Shaw Sports Turf is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team, supporting complex projects from initial bid through execution. As an Estimator, you will collaborate closely with Senior Estimators, Territory Managers, and the Shaw Sports Turf sales team, leveraging your expertise to prepare accurate and competitive bids. This role focuses on project ownership, client communication, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our estimating processes.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and present detailed cost estimates and bid packages, verifying the inclusion of all necessary submittals and requirements.

Independently determine labor, material, and time requirements by analyzing drawings, specifications, and other bid-related documents.

Accurately quantify material needs (line packages, pads, adhesives, logos, etc.) and produce professional proposals that clearly outline the project scope.

Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, subcontractors, and turf installers to clarify project details, resolve discrepancies, and align expectations.

Collect pricing and availability information from suppliers and subcontractors, reviewing all quotes to ensure they meet project scope and requirements.

Generate CAD drawings and takeoffs for use in estimates, ensuring accuracy and consistency with project requirements.

Identify and document any changes to project scope, revising estimates and layouts as needed and communicating updates to the appropriate stakeholders.

Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, and project cost data for easy reference and reporting.

Support the development of junior team members by reviewing their work, providing feedback, and assisting with complex estimating tasks as needed.

Collaborate with Territory Managers, RVPs, and project management teams to ensure seamless handoff and project execution.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.

2+ years of estimating experience, preferably in sports construction or a similar industry.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and apply technical specifications and construction documents.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and construction software.

Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
