VDH is for an experience ETL/BI developer/analyst to help develop an architecture to support BI reporting.
VDH IS IN NEED OF A HIGHLY SKILLED ETL DEVELOPER/SYSTEMS ANALYST WITH A STRONG BACKGROUND IN DATA ANALYSIS, ETL DEVELOPMENT USING SQL AND DATA MODELING. ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE IN REPORT DEVELOPMENT IS PREFERRED. EXPERIENCE IN OR EXPOSURE TO WHERESCAPE RED AND/OR LOGIXML IS A PLUS.
As an ETL developer/analyst this candidate will be responsible for analyzing new source system databases, developing complex ETL processes in SQL and Wherescape red and dimensionally modeling an architecture conducive to reporting. This candidate should also be experienced in documentation, change control, and promotion methodologies.
* Candidate will be required to demonstrate through interview questions a understanding of fundamental ETL principles, including various load strategies and types of loads.
The candidate will work as part of the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Information Management (OIM) Data Warehouse team to provide development, system analysis, technical support and peer troubleshooting assistance to help improve VDH decision making, optimize performance, and achieve reporting requirements. this candidate will work with a team of analysts, developers, managers, and business resources to build highly performing systems.
The current technology infrastructure is based on ORACLE 11G, Wherescape Red, and LogiXML
Specific Task(s):
. Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources and reconciles potential conflicts.
. Communicate and collaborate with customers to analyze information, business problem and automation needs.
. Develops ETL and dimensional models to pull data from multiple sources into data warehouse.
. Create reports using the tools specified.
. Assist in creating preliminary project plan, test plan, test cases and documentation as required
. Other elicit requirements for BI reporting and dashboards
Skills:
Experience with at least TWO Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) systems, such as oracle SQL Loader, Ab Initio, Informatica, Wherescape Red
