ETL/SQL Developer
Idea Entity, a Microsoft Gold Partner, is a global change management consulting firm committed to delivering customer outcomes that change the way business is done. We are looking for an experienced ETL/SQL Developer who will assume a key role on our team. This role will be operating on a hybrid schedule with three (3) telework days a week on-site out of our Herndon, Virginia office. Due to the nature of this role, US Citizenship/Green Card/Work Authorization is required and is not eligible for sponsorship. The successful ETL/SQL Developer will set standards for operations, programming and security and will be responsible for developing, testing, improving, and maintaining new and existing databases to help users retrieve data effectively. The ETL/SQL Developer will integrate new systems with existing warehouse structure and refine system performance and functionality, as well as assist development team with data management, including data warehousing systems and concepts. Collaboration with administrators and clients is essential to provide technical support and identify new requirements. Communication and organization skills are keys for this position, along with a problem-solution attitude. Requirements + Analyzing and understanding business requirements of data structures. + Designing and maintaining RDBMS architecture as well as ensuring their optimal performance, availability, and security. + Optimizing RDBMS performance, including query tuning, indexing, and statics maintenance. + Creating complex parameterized scripts and queries for business intelligence reporting. + Programing and designing data extract, transform and load jobs using the open-source technologies. + Installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading ETL software, repositories, and pipelines. + Using ETL tools (Azure Data Factory), BI tools (Power BI), and OBIEE. + Writing optimized complex SQL queries for integration with other applications. + Developing, configuring, and deploying ETL packages/pipelines. + Implementing and enforcing database security measures, including access controls, encryption, auditing, and disaster recovery. + Effective partnership with development teams to design data management and governance protocols, manage the information lifecycle, design infrastructure, and data integration controls. Qualifications + Minimum of four to seven (4-7) years of experience in relational databases in the areas of defining entities (physical/logical), dependencies, SQL queries, stored procedures, indexing, scheduled jobs, performance tuning with respect to queries/schema/etc., analyzing query execution plans, data management, including data warehousing systems and concepts, data transformation and integration techniques. + Minimum of four (4) years of experience in performing data extractions, data analysis and programming, to include writing advanced SQL Queries or creating programs. + Minimum of four (4) years of experience with Azure SQL. + Minimum of four (4) years hands on experience with Azure Data Factory and an understanding of ETL best practices. + At least three (3) years of experience using source code management software. + Prior experience working in an agile environment. + Bachelor’s Degree preferably in a field related to data science, computer information systems. Can substitute education requirement for greater experience. + Must be able to work independently and as part of a development team on multiple overlapping projects. + Proven track record of successfully delivering large projects. + Exceptional communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences. + Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams. + Demonstrated ability to solve challenging technical problems with innovative solutions. + Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
