The Role & What You Will Be Doing
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the EU Trade & Customs Specialist role will make an impact:
Verify the classification of goods, ensuring the correct commodity codes are applied.
Ensure compliance with all relevant customs laws, regulations, and standards.
Support Viatris legal entities and Affiliates with daily queries regarding classification, origin, valuation, Incoterms, customs requirements, and instructions.
Work closely with Supply Chain and Emerging Markets to provide additional documentation: LTSDs, PLA, COO, etc and facilitate the import/export clearance.
Work closely with Customs brokers to provide instructions, improve customs process and track customs clearance status of import and export shipments.
Assist on internal and external customs audits.
Assist on Cost calculations of Bill of Material for Product Preferential qualification
About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
Graduate Degree in Business or a related field with demonstrated experience in an Import & Export or Custom’s specific role preferably within a pharma supply chain environment
Proficiency in tariff classification, valuation, and origin, including Product classification – HS codes, Origin Determination and Proof of Origin.
Understanding Free Trade Agreement, Rules of Origin, and Preferential and Non-Preferential Origin.
Hands-on experience in Customs Management: Customs Instructions, Customs Brokers management and Post Declaration Audit.
Familiarity with Incoterms
Proficiency in Microsoft in Excel and database management systems
Skilled at engaging with key stakeholders at executive management level & effectively scale communication style for executive audiences.
Ability to anticipate and react to frequently changing business climate, delivering results to continual deadline constraints.
Effective at cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration, demonstrating strong organizational agility
