What you’ll bring
We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer to join our End User Computing (EUC) team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions to streamline and enhance the efficiency of EUC services. You will work closely with IT teams to automate repetitive tasks, improve workflows, and ensure seamless user experiences across a variety of endpoints, devices, and software platforms.
Additionally, you will be responsible for Workday-AD integration and support, ensuring seamless synchronization between Workday and Active Directory. This includes user provisioning, attribute updates, and account deactivation. You will also manage and troubleshoot Azure Runbooks to automate and maintain integration processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in automation tools, scripting languages, and an understanding of the EUC environment. Experience with Workday-AD integration, Azure Runbooks, and secondary skills in SCCM/Intune and M365 are highly desirable. Key Responsibilities:
Automation Development: Design, implement, and support Workday-AD integration solutions. Create, manage, and troubleshoot Azure Runbooks. Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to streamline EUC processes, such as software deployment, patch management, device provisioning, and system monitoring. Write scripts and use automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible, SCCM, Intune, etc.) to automate manual tasks related to end-user devices and systems. System Integration: Ability to interface Workday with AD and other applications like Service Now and other IT applications Integrate automation solutions with existing IT systems, such as endpoint management platforms, Active Directory, and monitoring tools, to ensure seamless user experiences. Co-management of SCCM with Intune. Automation Maintenance and Support: Provide engineering support for Workday-AD integration Manage and Support Azure Runbooks Maintain scripts and remediations from Intune. Maintain and update existing automation solutions to adapt to evolving business needs and technological advancements. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to automated processes or systems, ensuring minimal disruption to EUC operations.Documentation and Reporting: Create comprehensive documentation for automation processes, scripts, and workflows, ensuring clarity for future updates and troubleshooting. Provide regular reports on automation metrics, performance, and any areas requiring improvement. Collaboration and Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure automation solutions align with business objectives and IT strategies. Security and Compliance: Collaborate with security teams to automate vulnerability management, patching, and remediation processes for EUC environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Automation Engineer or in a similar role, ideally within an EUC, IT support, or endpoint management environment. Strong experience in developing automation solutions using scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash. Familiarity with automation tools and platforms like SCCM, Intune, Ansible, or similar Experience working with Workday-AD integration, Azure Automation, Azure Runbooks In-depth knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, including device management and troubleshooting. Experience with endpoint management, device provisioning, and software deployment tools. Understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and other directory services. Experience in integration of Workday-Active Directory Experience with mobile device management (MDM) platforms like Intune/SCCM Experience working with Azure Runbooks Familiarity with monitoring and performance tools (e.g., Splunk, Nagios, etc.) and automating their configuration and alerting. Knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly in Incident, Change, and Problem Management. Experience working with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS for automation and device management. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve automation-related issues promptly. Ability to analyse existing processes, identify automation opportunities, and develop efficient solutions. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong collaboration skills to work in a team-oriented environment. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable automation solutions. Understanding of security best practices for automating IT processes, especially regarding user data and compliance. Certifications related to endpoint management or automation tools, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Azure Automation, Workday Pro, ITIL Foundation, or certifications in automation tools like Ansible or PowerShell.
