Europe Chief of Staff

The Europe Chief of Staff (CoS) reports to Europe Cluster & Banking Head and CEO of Citibank Europe PLC (CEP) and UK, Europe & MEA IB Head. The CoS role is a senior-level position responsible to enhance the operating efficiency and organizational effectiveness across the Europe cluster, CEP legal entity and IB business for UK, Europe and MEA.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Serve as trusted advisor to the Europe Cluster & Banking Head and CEO of Citibank Europe PLC (CEP) and UK, Europe & MEA IB Head.
+ Partner constructively with CEP COO, CCOs, Business Execution leads, International senior mgmt., Banking Executives and IB Senior Leaders. Build and manage strong relationships with key stakeholders, and functions within Europe, CEP, UK/Europe/MEA IB and broader organization.
+ Support strategic reviews, major cross cluster and/ or companywide initiatives and engage with other clusters, International and global partners to align Europe, CEP and IB priorities and regulatory obligations including simplification actions. Responsible for coordinating/managing Europe, CEP and IB deliverables on business and regulatory front. Facilitate interaction with regulators by preparing comprehensive reports and presentations.
+ Manage tasks and responsibilities associated with the planning, directing, coordination and support of day-to-day activities on behalf of Europe Cluster & Banking Head and CEO of Citibank Europe PLC (CEP) and UK, Europe & MEA IB Head. Provide support in the development of strategic initiatives, key projects, and coordinate consistency at geography and legal entity level where possible.
+ Analyze and synthesize key information, generate reports and prepare high quality presentations, talking points and briefing notes for the Europe Cluster & Banking Head and CEO of Citibank Europe PLC (CEP) and UK, Europe & MEA IB Head. Leverage access to information to facilitate right connectivity and efficiency at senior level, as well as draft correspondence on behalf of the Europe Cluster & Banking Head and CEO of Citibank Europe PLC (CEP) and UK, Europe & MEA IB Head.
+ Anticipate and manage the preparation of internally and externally facing meetings, governance committees, boards and events. Responsible for planning offsite meetings, preparing town halls materials, senior visits (inbound/outbound), community outreach, targeted group interactions.
+ Prioritize activity to ensure timely completion of critical work. Optimize calendar management in partnership with EA.
+ Action deliverables from meetings, committees, boards, target state and assess success criteria to ensure senior mgmt. expectations are met, and underline / escalate issues. Ensure timely and consistent PMO status reporting to relevant governance bodies and stakeholders.
+ Handling internal and external communications, media /speaker platform in partnership with ESPA on behalf of the Europe Cluster & Banking Head and CEO of Citibank Europe PLC (CEP) and UK, Europe & MEA IB Head.
+ Facilitate effective communication to achieve the right level of stakeholders’ involvement at the right time. Identify and drive resolution of issues, maintain a disciplined follow up and tracking approach for any open items.
+ Design, review and improve organizational structures and helping address ongoing problems. Facilitate the sharing of best practices and insights across the team.
+ Create methodologies, procedures and governance of the productivity plans to ensure expense targets are met. Identify opportunities to optimize costs, propose initiatives and lead creation of direct expense plans in partnership with internal functions and teams.
+ Act as a point of escalation for staffing needs, work on workforce planning, organization design, and re-organization actions. Develop workforce planning, track budget, and coordinate approvals for budget requests. Ensure approved out-of-budget expenditure requests are appropriately handled. Facilitate talent reviews with HR.
+ Manage and drive the process to set up a continuous cycle of organization/operating model reviews towards optimizing the organizational model at Europe geography, CEP legal entity and IB level. Identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency through process improvements and drive risk mitigation actions.
+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Citi policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
**Knowledge/Skills/Experience**
+ Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in driving positive and sustained change.
+ Strategic and project management capabilities coupled with strong analytic and financial acumen.
+ Change management capabilities. Leading and supporting organization change initiatives.
+ Proven presentation skills including the ability to produce high quality presentations and briefing notes.
+ Significant level of experience working directly with senior management, ideally 5+ years within a Citi business.
+ Highly motivated, strong attention to detail and team-oriented.
+ Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency.
+ Comfortable navigating complex, highly-matrixed organizations.
+ Pragmatic problem solver, forward thinker with independence of thought.
