Wear Referrals (part of Linnaeus Veterinary Limited, owned by Mars) is a multi-disciplinary, specialist veterinary referral hospital in the north east of England, close to the historic university city of Durham, the thriving city of Newcastle, and set between the north east coast and the Pennines. Our services, with more than 20 specialists, include neurology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, anaesthesia, oncology, diagnostic imaging and cardiology, as well as a busy primary care out-of-hours emergency service and in-house physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
Role Details
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced European Specialist (ECVS) Surgeon to join the team at Wear Referrals. The position will cover both orthopaedics and soft tissue but specifically orthopaedics. The successful candidate will need to supervise a residency programme in ortho surgery.
This exciting role will require the candidate to:
Provide clinical services as a specialist consultant in soft tissue and ortho surgery cases.
Work with the surgery team for the development of the service
Support and develop the surgery team, in particular by supervising and teaching residents
Work collaboratively with all other services and foster good interdepartmental relationships
Demonstrate professional standards that will advance patient care.
