EV and Battery System Engineering Design Manager

The EV and Battery System Engineering Design Manager is responsible for leading the engineering team to support the Transportation Business needs. The individual in this role will oversee the daily activities of our Test Engineers, who review customers’ technical needs and recommend solutions, and inspire a culture of innovation towards new solutions for customers’ challenges. In addition to driving Emerson goals, the Application Engineering Manager will work to develop talent and ensure quality.
 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Led and managed a team of system and electrical engineers in the design and development of EV and battery testing. Ensure that project objectives are met on time and within budget. Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including proposal engineer and test engineers, hardware engineers, and project managers, to define requirements and specifications for test solutions. Improve performance and reliability in the electrical design process by applying new technologies and methodologies, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement. Support project schedules and prioritization, supervising progress and identifying potential risks or obstacles to project success. Nurture a culture of teamwork, creativity, and accountability within the team, promoting a positive work environment where individuals can thrive and grow. Regularly evaluate team performance and provide feedback to team members, finding opportunities for skills development and career advancement. Stay updated on current industry trends and standard methodologies in electrical engineering, actively engaging in professional development activities and networking opportunities when necessary. Support product manager for product development. Support and collaborate with R&D for non-standard application development. leader of battery system level architecture design Based on NI battery roadmap to lead of the proposal engineer and sales for system level overview design. Support software development for non-standard HW and application. hardware level development for battery system level speciation and documents
    Who You Are:
You are an effective leader who efficiently directs teams, mentors staff, and develops training programs. You have a strong track record in implementing consistent quality practices, overseeing feasibility studies, and maintaining thorough documentation. You excel in managing complexity across varied operational environments, optimizing workflows, and establishing performance metrics to ensure efficiency and high standards. Your excellent communication skills enable seamless collaboration with collaborators, ensuring adaptive responses to challenges and successful project execution. 
  For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor's degree in STEM;. 3-5 years of experience in product development, with a focus on electrical design and EV powertrain and battery testing. 2-3 years of experience in a leadership or management role, supervising a team of engineers. Knowledge about the technical skills in E-plan and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Proe or Creo) Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, lead resources, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and individuals from different functions. Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to empower and inspire team members to achieve their full potential. Proven problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation, with a track record of delivering high-quality results in a challenging technical environment.
 
  Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Master's degree in STEM; Experience in the design and development of electrical design for battery test system.
