Hourly base pay rate is $23.17 - $34.81/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

What’s In It For You?    

Engineering interns at Cox Automotive EVBS will work on multidisciplinary projects focused on the development, analysis, or improvement of battery remanufacturing and warehouse logistics processes.  Summer interns are typically assigned to small projects that fall into one of these broad areas.

The EVBS engineering team is composed of four major components that are (1) process and battery root cause engineering, (2) mechanical design and fabrication, (3) electronics design, production and test-stand software development (90% LabVIEW, 10% Python), and (4) the ALFRED software platform (a cloud-based web application written in PHP/MySQL/Javascript/HTML).

What' You'll Do:

Assist in the design, development, and testing of engineering projects.Collaborate with senior engineers to perform technical research and analysis.Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.Prepare technical documentation and reports.Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of engineering systems and equipment.Conduct experiments and simulations under the guidance of experienced engineers.Learn and apply industry standards and best practices in engineering.

Who You Are:

Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., engineering (mechanical or electrical), computer science, or a closely related field of similar technical difficulty.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in relate software/tools, e.g., SolidWorks, Eagle, LabVIEW, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, PythonExcellent communication and teamwork abilities.Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.Basic understanding of engineering principles and methodologies.

Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.
