Main Duties:
Data entry, processing laboratory specimens, answering phones, equipment maintenance, records reconciliation. Sorting incoming specimens, prioritizing and immediately processing STAT testing. Assist with referrals as needed. Follow employer policies; work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner.Must be a team player and collaborate with department members, supervisors, and hospital staffThe purpose of DLO, and this individual job classification, is to execute individual tasks and perform multiple processes to enable DLO to provide laboratory answers to medical questions. To accomplish the above purpose, the duties/job functions of this position are as follows:Show up for work, on time and prepared to perform all tasks and processes, each and every scheduled work day and to remain performing those duties throughout the entire assigned work schedule for that day.Perform all tasks and processes assigned by your immediate supervisor including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processes assigned that you may be over-qualified to perform.Perform the previous two job duties/functions as a collaborative member of your work team and with a personal disposition that is positive and supportive of your fellow team members.Required Knowledge: A successful candidate will possess good computer skills and be able to adapt to using multiple computer systems. The candidate should be able to take instruction from a variety of sources without adversity. Demonstrate dexterity and attention to detail. Must have the ability to always maintain a professional attitude. Communicate clearly and respectfully to coworkers and customers
Required Experience: High School Diploma or higher. Previous hospital laboratory experience is a plus but not required.
Special Requirements: Must be able to maintain a professional attitude under heavy workload and in stressful situations. Reflect the company’s values in all aspects of performance. Must be a team player. Extra hours may be required to serve our patients’ needs on an infrequent basis. Good customer service skills and a positive, professional demeanor will serve the candidate well.
