Event Facilities Tech Intern - Summer 2025

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Rocket Companies® Rock Events team – a team of energetic professionals that focus on supporting the Rock Family of Companies! Our team plans and executes special events, meetings, incentive travel, parties, awards shows, charity functions, and more. The goal is a world-class event, every time.

As an Event Facilities Technician Intern, you'll be part of the Rock Events team. In this role, you'll assist the team by maintaining and cleaning the multiple event spaces in our portfolio. You'll be responsible for setting up event furniture and assisting clients and vendors with their event onsite. To be successful in this role, you'll need to be an enthusiastic self-starter who respond with a sense of urgency and always looks for ways to improve event venues and the client experience. The goal is a world-class experience, every time.

About the Role

Review the final and updated event details with Event ManagerWipe down all hard surfaces, clean all glass, sweep/mop floors, vacuum carpeted areas, etc.Rearrange furniture in accordance with the set up requestAssist vendors and clients with loading in and out of event space and have carts available and readyRefresh and check restrooms and trash bins before, during, and after eventsWalk through event area during event to maintain cleanliness of spaceBe available for updates and changes as they may occur for eventsAssist with events in various event spaces including outdoor spaces

About You

Academic majors: AnyJunior, Senior, or Graduate studentProfessional, friendly demeanor with both internal and external clientsResponds with a sense of urgencySelf-starter; on the lookout for things to doHave a “we’ll figure it out” attitudeCommitted to a great client experienceMust be able to lift up to 75 pounds on a routine basisMust have valid driver's licenseMust be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekendsBasic computer skills strongly preferred

Rock Events is a premiere team of event professionals who provide event production, business travel and hospitality services to Rocket Companies, in additional to venue sales for some of the most sought-after event spaces in the city of Detroit.
