TITLE: Event Management and Automation Engineer
LOCATION: Belgrade, Serbia - Hybrid
Department: DCS Operations Team
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Event Management and Automation Engineer to join our team. This role involves overseeing the monitoring, analysis, and automation of events from various devices and platforms, including self-service checkouts and POS devices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data coming from the application events, system events, security events as well as different services and processes from the endpoints and will drive the releases of automation logic using tools like Azure Logic Apps, Databricks/SQL and Azure Streaming Analytics.
Position Responsibilities Summary:
Plan, coordinate, and execute automation logic releases to streamline event management processes.Utilize Logic Apps and Databricks to create and manage automation behind event responses.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align event and release plans with business objectives.Monitor and analyze event data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.Establish and document best practices for event management and automation processes.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.Provide systems support including responding to monitoring alerts.Automation ManagementConfiguration ManagementEvent ManagementDocumentation: writes knowledge articles and other documentationGeneral Responsibilities:
• Work in close coordination with the development and operations team such that the application is in line with performance according to the customer's (both internal and external) expectation.
• Analyzing relevant logs, tracing, and extracting relevant details from these logs, and understanding the relationship of the details across different products and components for the services our customers have implemented.
• Analyzing service history and health to provide improved service enhancement recommendations. Proactively recommending improvements to support processes and practices.
• Coordinate and develop problem isolation plans and/or personally solve customer problems when appropriate; Assemble and assess solution alternatives.
• Serving as the functional escalation point for the DCS AppOps team, leading to the problem resolution. Managing, and owning tickets from start to end in the NCR incident management system (ensuring closure of all incident and problem records).
• Create experienced-based case candidate knowledge for inclusion in the Knowledge Base; Use available systems and information tools to identify and effectively match customer problems to documented solutions; Identify patterns, provide feedback, and make suggestions for process, project, system, tool and organizational improvements; Participates in requirements gathering process and user testing.
• Participate in team meetings and activities; Participate in objective setting, performance management, reward, and recognition programs; Participate in special projects to continuously improve processes, tools, systems, and organization in accordance with the NCR improvement approach
Education and/or Requirements Required:
- The incumbent should possess associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or proven work experience.
- Candidates must have proven excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Candidates should have strong organizational acumen.
- Candidates should have ad hoc process understanding.
Skill Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in event management.
- Proven experience in workflow management, utilizing Azure Logic Apps for automation.
- Proficiency in data analysis and handling using Databricks, BigQuery, and Azure Streaming Analytics.
- Experience with database administration, SQL, KQL.
- Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux...), networking, hardware, and software
- Batch/Bash scripting, VB Scripting skills, Windows Command line tools and utilities, PowerShell Scripting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of ITSM processes and Agile methodology
- Experienced in using ITSM tools.
- Problem-solving: Skilled in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and conditions.
- Initiative: Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and drives them forward.
- Works constructively and collaboratively with other team members and across organizations to accomplish organizational goals and objectives. Applies methodologies, processes, and tools to enhance work effectiveness and to implement process improvements.
