Within our Amazon Business Global Events & Experiences organization, we are seeking an accomplished event manager to bring the Amazon Business brand to life at the events we host for customers, including summits, fulfillment center tours, and executive briefings, forums, and engagements. The right candidate will have a track record of working with a cross-functional team to deliver flawless events. This role will have end-to-end ownership of project management and experiential planning for a high volume of owned events. This person should be organized, creative, results oriented, relentlessly focused on the customer, and push to uphold high standards for event project planning, execution, and reporting. This person should be passionate about delivering experiences that help engage with procurement and financial decision makers and drive sustained awareness and brand familiarity. You will also report results regularly to key stakeholders and partner teams across the organization. This position will be based in Seattle (relocation assistance available) and will report to the Global Head of Amazon Business Events & Experiences. They will accountability to the events team lead lead and field marketing teams.
This is a highly cross-functional role that requires close partnership across teams across the US. It requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong ownership and execution. This role requires an organized event planner who thrives in ambiguity, and an can manage multiple owned events and executive engagements simultaneously. As part of this role, you will own event playbooks and SOPs, regular reporting on events, and build mechanisms that help prioritize activities that delight our customers, drive efficiencies, and measure impact. Key job responsibilities
- End-to-end management of owned events
- Own event planning and management from inception to assessment. Includes but is not limited to project management, venue sourcing, attendee mgmt, F&B planning, run of show, experiences, onsite management (where required), post-event reporting, etc.
- Develop and execute novel event approaches to drive customer engagement through events, including standalone events and ancillary engagements at annual flagship event, Amazon Business Reshape
- Own and develop a high bar of customer experience for all events
- Create and manage event definitions and mechanisms, including calendar, resourcing, templates, and execution plans for each event
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop timely inputs and set up processes across other functions of the organization to maintain a high bar on quality execution
- Compile, analyze, and present performance metrics and enlighten potential opportunities for new event programs
- Establish guidelines and best practices across owned events, leading and contributing to event calendar, stakeholder communications, standard operating procedures (SOP), vendor lists, and documentation of mechanisms.
- Source services from vendors through RFPs and analysis to scale support.
- Write, contribute to, and present strategy docs to leadership and stakeholders.

In this role, you'll balance hands-on execution with project management to ensure the events we host for customers are industry-leading. You will collaborate closely with the field marketing teams teams, as well as agency partners, to drive impactful meetings and events. Your day may include identifying and activating stakeholders and project plans, managing events, overseeing onsite events, ideating about experiences, defining guidelines, and creating campaigns. As the centerpiece of our marketing operations, you will own event operations for these events and have a direct influence on our growth and performance.
