We are hiring an Event Manager to join our CELA (Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs) organization! Microsoft's United Nations and International Organizations (UNIO) team’s mission is to deepen Microsoft’s engagements and support for the United Nation's (UN) mission. This includes convening stakeholders from the UN community to contribute to inclusive initiatives that bring together governments and the UN community with civil society and the private sector to collaborate on solutions. We champion technology and partnerships to address some of the most pressing global challenges from environmental sustainability and connectivity to skills, education, and encouraging trust and security in cyberspace. To achieve these aims the team is seeking an experienced strategic event manager to join our growing team in New York.

**Responsibilities**
+ Lead the planning and execution of the UNIO team’s event strategy in New York, including virtual, in-person, and hybrid events that align with the team’s mission and brand.
+ Oversee the establishment, management, and execution of event operations to create a distinguished presence for Microsoft within the UN community, ensuring a consistent guest experience that reflects the team’s core priorities.
+ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute ongoing event programs, fostering partnerships that enhance the UN Affairs event program in New York.
+ Advance Microsoft's broader public policy and social impact agenda through strategic events and partnership-driven strategies within the UN New York community.
+ Cultivate and grow a network of partners within the UN multi-stakeholder system and a good understanding of how to navigate within a diplomatic environment.
**Qualifications**
**Required/Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 4+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years event management experience
+ 3+ years project management experience
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 3+ years corporate and international event planning experience
+ Advanced organizational and project management skills.
+ Advanced communication and interpersonal abilities for stakeholder collaboration.
+ Capable of managing multiple events simultaneously under pressure.
+ Proven team player with a network in New York or the ability to access resources for managing an innovative event space there.
+ Experience or knowledge of the UN System and international organizations.
+ Familiarity with event management tools, including CRM systems.
+ Proactive in identifying potential issues, troubleshooting problems on the spot, and adapting to changing circumstances with ease.
+ The ability to create and deliver formal presentations to others. This includes sharing information to internal and external audiences in a clear, concise, engaging and convincing manner; commanding the audience’s attention; and developing effective presentation materials (e.g., powerpoint, handouts, visual aids).
+ Proven team player dedicated to collective success with the ability to develop and maintain highly collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, colleagues, managers, partners, and vendors.
+ The ability to communicate with multiple cultures and with diplomatic sensibilities. This includes the ability to recognize and adapt to cultural differences in work and communication styles across regions or countries.
Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
