This position represents and markets the O’Reilly Auto Parts brand at major national and regional company-sponsored events (e.g. NASCAR, NHRA, car shows, etc.), with the aim of growing and enhancing the OAP brand image through event activation. This position is based in Dallas, Texas and requires traveling to regional events within a 10-hour driving radius and setting up event activation displays at O’Reilly sponsored events. Individual must be comfortable with a variable work schedule, over-the-road travel, pulling a trailer and working events Individual must operate independently and make decisions with little or no direct supervision while in the field, and exercise sound judgment in all interactions with the event-going public, external partners, and store TM volunteers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Represent the OAP brand and convey a positive brand image at major company-sponsored events.
Create and activate OAP marketing display to maximize impact on-site and drive traffic to display.
Write detailed reports on all events at which he/she activates, including fact-based recommendation to repeat, expand, discontinue or reduce our presence at each event.
Evaluate and recommend new sponsorship opportunities in region, including track signage deals, promotional tie-ins and in-store ticket sales programs.
Maintain OAP truck, trailer and event displays in show-ready condition at all times and prevent damage to same through close supervision of event activities.
Recruit, supervise and train personnel (mainly store TM’s) that work at events; insure that a positive, professional image is maintained by all display workers at all times.
Act as a liaison between O’Reilly Auto Parts and key external stakeholders such as track personnel, show promoters and OAP suppliers.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required:High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum two years OAP store or DC experience (or equivalent parts knowledge)
Experience in over-the-road trucking and/or towing a trailer
Bi-lingual in English & Spanish
Ability to setup large event activations: tents, tables, and displays (lifting 50+ lbs)
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel or willingness to learn
Excellent organizational skills and ability to lead/direct others
Must present a professional company image and positive attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent driving skills and driving record
Class E Drivers License
Self-starter; able to work and make sound decisions without direct supervision
Regional Travel: 50% - including weekends
Desired:Event marketing experience
Experience in over-the-road trucking and/or towing a trailer
Knowledge of and interest in motorsports
