Position Information Position Information Position Availability: Position Title: Event Project student Assistant - Federal Work Study Only Requisition Number: 0406073385 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: ELC/Dean's Office Responsibilities: The Journalism + Design (J+D) department is hiring for a Federal Work Study position to help plan and produce J+D’s 2024-2025 event programming, including but not limited to our fall career fair, our spring media mixer, our Capstone Showcases, and our professional development panels and workshops. The Event Project Assistants will also be responsible for working with the Department Faculty Advisor and other department faculty to expand and help sustain our communication system for community resources and events.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Co-imagine event programming for the department Assist with event planning and logistics, including but not limited to catering, facilities requests and setup, IT requests and setup, event check-in, event promotion, and event takedown Maintain event planning spreadsheets Help build and maintain our communication systems Help with communications via email, Slack, and social media Help create and share resource opportunities for our community
Workmode: This is a hybrid position. Students can work remotely, but must be available on-campus before, during, and after our in-person events.
Hourly Rate: $16
Minimum Qualifications: Highly organized and deadline-oriented Excellent writing and editing skills
