**Job Summary**
Are you looking for a fun and rewarding job? Come join the Private Events Team and help beautiful events come to life in the stunning garden venues at Red Butte! Assist with the coordination of garden themed weddings, corporate parties, and other private events. Work with an exciting team of new and seasoned event staff gaining experience with event coordination, connecting with local businesses, and learning about the botanical exhibits. Grow as a leader, make new friends and find mentors all while working in an outdoor garden setting!
Red Butte offers the opportunity to work at a beautiful botanic garden and engage with plant-loving communities. Work hours can be semi-flexible to school or other jobs. Many events take place during evenings and weekends. Red Butte Garden is accessible via several bus routes that stop in Research Park and at the University Medical Center, as well as the Trax Red line, followed by a short walk or on-demand university campus shuttle. **Responsibilities**
- The set-up and take-down of event spaces such as: tables, chairs, signage, and venue materials per the event’s needs.
- Opening and closing duties of the Garden’s buildings and facilities.
- Greet and direct vendors and guests to the event.
- Ensure event space stays private during the Garden’s open hours.
- Communicate with catering staff, vendors, garden volunteers, and clients during event.
- Light cleaning duties to maintain event space and venue materials.
- Report post-event information to Events Manager.
- Complete Garden’s Safety trainings.

**Minimum Qualifications**
Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Two years of related experience, ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks, expertise using MS Office software, and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required. Database experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be preferred.

**Preferences**
Ideal applicants should be comfortable working in all types of weather conditions and will be asked to work mostly weekends and evenings. Applicants should have experience in customer service or event implementation, strong human relation and communication skills, a commitment to provide excellent customer service, and possess basic computer skills.
