Evidence Based Clinical Leader (E)

Summary: Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer oversees the education and implementation of evidence based practices initiatives as well as quality improvement initiatives. Assesses the education and training needs of all nursing department employees to assure competency in collaboration with Nurse Leaders, Performance Improvement Department and Patient Care Service Department. Also assesses the educational needs of the various departmental leaders pertaining to Med/Surg/Telemetry/ Critical Care/ ED. Plans, coordinates, organizes and provides education and training to meet assessed needs. Evaluates the effectiveness of education and training provided. Trends and analyzes all programs for their impact on nursing practice and patient outcomes. Provides supervision, support, development and mentoring for all staff in the Med/Surg/Telemetry/ Critical Care/ ED Departments. Works closely with the Director of Nursing operations, Nurses Leaders and other Med/Surg/Telemetry/ Critical Care/ ED Leaders to ensure that the mission and vision of the department is held to the highest standard and works towards accountability of that expectation. Can cover for Med/Surg/Telemetry/ Critical Care/ ED Nurse Leaders in their absence.

Education: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required/Masters preferred.

Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Rhode Island. Any other nursing certifications are beneficial. BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Experience: Five years of successful clinical and educational training experience. Managerial experience required. Experience in Acute Care, a critical care area is required.
