If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for a co-op within the eVinci Microreactor Program.  The position requires a regular presence at the new eVinci Technology Center in Etna, PA.  This role will support the Space Applications team developing the AstroVinci microreactor to revolutionize space power and propulsion.  There is the opportunity to return for multiple rotations based on performance and interest.

Your Day-to-Day:

Design and analyze components, sub-assemblies, or systems for nuclear powered spacecraft. Develop space system products including technical budgets (mass, power, link, etc.), Concept of Operations (ConOps), and verification and validation (V&V) activities. Perform trade studies to optimize technical and programmatic variables of complex problems. Perform structural and/or thermal analysis, such as hand calculations or Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Develop test plans to validate models and parameters. Plan and schedule work to meet assignment requirements. Interface with other internal functional groups and external stakeholders (NASA, AFRL, etc.)

 Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Completion of Sophomore year college by the start of the 1st rotation. Knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Proficient in CAD (AutoDesk Inventor & SpaceClaim preferred). Strong communication, collaboration & organizational skills to work effectively on a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team. US Citizen.

Desired Skills:

Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred. Proven track record of performance on team design/build competitions (NASA Student Launch Challenge, ESRA Spaceport America Cup, AIAA Design/Build/Fly, Formula SAE, etc.). Exposure to Finite Element Analysis (FEA, Ansys preferred). Knowledge of standards and specifications within the aerospace industry.
