EVS Assistant Manager
**Overview** The Assistant Manager of Environmental Services (EVS) plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of [Hospital/Facility Name]. For information about ABM’s benefits, visit 2024 Benefits for Staff / Management (https://www.abm.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/2024-Recruitment-Staff-Mgmt-11.6.23.pdf) . **Essential Functions:** **Supervision and Leadership:** + Assist in managing, training, and supervising the EVS team, including housekeeping staff, custodians, and other personnel. + Provide guidance and support to staff, ensuring they follow established protocols and procedures. + Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to ensure continuous improvement. **Operations Management:** + Oversee daily cleaning operations, ensuring all areas of the facility, including patient rooms, offices, public areas, and restrooms, are clean, sanitized, and well-maintained. + Assist in developing and maintaining cleaning schedules and ensure they are adhered to by the staff. + Coordinate with other departments to ensure the timely and efficient completion of cleaning tasks, especially in high-priority areas. + Reviews patient satisfaction data monthly to ensure and maintain excellence in cleanliness and experience of patients. **Quality Control and Compliance:** + Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health, safety, and infection control standards. + Implement corrective actions as needed to address any deficiencies or areas of concern. + Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards. + JCAHO, Federal, State and local laws, regulations, and codes pertaining to bio hazardous and infectious, waste management. + Oversees biohazards program. Participates in Safety Committee. + Maintains the Joint Commission regulatory compliance within EVS. **Inventory and Supply Management:** + Assist in managing inventory levels of cleaning supplies, equipment, and materials. + Coordinate with vendors to order supplies and ensure timely delivery. + Monitor the use of supplies and equipment to minimize waste and control costs. **Customer Service:** + Respond to and resolve complaints or concerns related to cleanliness and environmental services. + Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining open communication with patients, staff, and visitors. **Administrative Duties:** + Assist in preparing reports, maintaining records, and managing departmental budgets. + Support the EVS Manager in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures. + Participate in meetings and contribute to departmental planning and improvement initiatives. **Minimum Qualifications:** + High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a related field preferred. + 2-3 years of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or a related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role. + Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, products, and equipment. + Familiarity with health, safety, and infection control regulations and best practices. + Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
