EVS Cleaner (Harrah's Joliet) Full Time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provides fast and flawless service to every customer. Provides friendly service to every customer. Cleans ash urns, vacuums carpet areas, cleans slot machines, polishes furniture and other bright areas. Properly uses cleaning equipment and chemicals to ensure safety. Performs laundry/linen receipt. Cleans and monitors customer and employee bathrooms. Empties garbage on the casino floor and other back of-house areas. Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same. Adheres to all regulatory, company, and department policies and procedures. Completes all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Some knowledge of proper chemical usage is preferred. Ability to work a flexible shift to include nights, holidays, and weekends. Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling customer needs and concerns. Must be a team player.

JOB DEMANDS:

Lifts up to a maximum of 35 pounds and frequently lifts and/or carries up to 25 pounds.  Position requires 35% standing, 5% sitting, and 60% walking.  Requires frequent kneeling, stooping, reaching overhead, and very frequent bending, pushing, twisting, and climbing.  Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino and remote buildings. Must be able to read, understand, and tolerate the usage of cleaning chemicals.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.  Must have the manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment and machines. Must be able to work in areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust. Requires the ability to respond to speech, touch, smell, aural and visual cues.
