 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS   

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be at least 21 years of age.

 

This position works with several types of chemicals; proper precautions are taken. 

This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. 

Ability to move around work area effectively and efficiently. 

Ability to inspect and clean areas of responsibility. 

Must be able to balance, climb and crawl as position is at times required to use ladders, as well as clean ground level areas., will be required to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds throughout an 8-our shift.  

Must be able to transport all supplies to and from work areas. 

Prior janitorial experience preferred but not required. 

The skills necessary for this position are typically acquired through at least two months’ on-the-job training or related experience.  

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                                                              

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

EVS employees do not have to qualify for licenses and permits

Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and be able to handle chemical fumes and airborne particles (on occasion).  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Floor Tech Responsibilities:

Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas, and other spaces.Moving furniture before and after cleaning.Performing tasks like dusting, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors.Measuring and correctly using cleaning chemicals.Operating chemical dispensing units.Properly label chemicals.Maintaining and storing equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).Keeping an inventory of floor areas and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties.Reporting maintenance issues to supervisors.Assisting with hazardous waste collection as requested.Floor maintenance experience is required.Willingness to work with hazardous chemicals, bodily fluids.Physical agility and resilience to noise.Excellent communication skills

 

Carpet Cleaning Responsibilities:

Meeting with clients to discuss their cleaning needs.Assessing the state of the floors and carpets that need to be cleaned.Applying stain and pre-cleaning treatments to the carpets and floors.Carefully removing furniture to access all areas that need to be cleaned.Cleaning carpets and floors using machine and hand-washing techniques.Drying carpets using drying machines.Resetting the furniture.

 

 

May be required to work a flexible schedule due to Holidays, business demands, or events

Employees could be exposed to an environment containing unrestricted secondhand tobacco smoke.
