WE LOVE OUR WORK.The EVS (Environmental Services) Manager maintains high standards of cleanliness and assists customers as necessary to ensure their satisfaction. The EVS Manager supervises housekeeping staff in daily operations, providing a clean, sanitary and attractive facility in a cost effective manner. This leader has responsibilities for housekeeping and heavy-duty cleaners on all shifts. This leader oversees the daily operations and performance of employees on shift. Responsibilities include conducting interviews, performance appraisals and discipline action recommendations, addressing employee complaints and resolving problems.
Monitor work assignments for housekeeping staff. Inspects areas of responsibility to ensure completion of assignments. Provides on-site training and education for staff on proper cleaning/housekeeping techniques, job efficiency, safety, and health. Maintains adequate inventories. Must ensure effective communication of all departmental/Company information to staff. This role necessitates a hands-on manager who actively engages with the team, rather than solely performing administrative duties. Reviews cleaning products and equipment for improvements in usage. Communicates with faculty, administrative and professional staff Responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, laws, regulatory requirements, including required training. Must be able to interact with guests and provide guest service according to company standards. Assist with general cleaning and maintenance duties. Must lead by example; Provide coaching as appropriate to assist EVS leads and employees in reaching their full potential as a member of the team. Oversees the daily operations and performance of employees on shift. Compiles reports and keeps records as needed. Must always demonstrate ethical and cooperative behavior with guests, co-workers and leadership. Create a positive, professional work environment emphasizing a teamwork approach and effective communication. Maintain professional conduct and appearance. Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management. Follow all cleaning, sanitation and PPE position specific guidelines.

Bilingual skills are preferred and beneficial to interdepartmental communication.Must qualify for licensing with the New Mexico Racing Commission. Associates degree and a minimum of three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education or experience required. Supervisory experience required. Must be able to effectively communicate both oral and written. Must be able to work indoors and/or outdoors and in various weather conditions. Knowledge of general housekeeping procedures, housekeeping projects, cleaning techniques, contracts and products/chemicals. Ability to supervise, schedule and discipline a multi-member staff. Computer experience in Word, Excel and Outlook. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to work as part of a team and to promote cooperative approach between departments. Ability to work unsupervised.
