CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services.  CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose

The Environmental Services Tech cleans, disinfects, and maintains assigned patient care areas of the medical center in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition to promote a clean and health medical center environment for all employees, patients and guests in accordance with the mission and philosophy of St. Alexius Medical Center.

Essential Key Job ResponsibilitiesMaintains and cleans non-patient care areas at standard or above according to established procedure

and schedule while using correct chemicals in correct amount.

Cleans and disinfects areas where patient care is given as assigned meeting the standard of                                                   care according to established procedure. Uses correct chemicals for appropriate bacteria in correct amounts; cleans equipment and items within the Medical Center using correct chemicals in correct amount.  Assures equipment is handled with care.  Follows hospital regulations for infection control to include washing hands thoroughly throughout the day.Possess skills/knowledge to perform service and operation of equipment specific to age groups- ensures environment is safe.  Reports to nurse or supervisor any patient complaint.Responds to emergencies, STAT rooms or problems in department according to established policy.Ensures bathrooms are stocked and garbage removed as per procedureReports mechanical failures or unsafe conditions to the Supervisor.Assists with cost control by appropriate stocking of supplies, caring for maid cart and other equipment to include cleaning and maintenance.
Qualifications

Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent

Ability to understand and complete written and verbal instructions.  Ability to measure chemicals.  Ability to drive riding equipment.

Prefer experience in cleaning and disinfecting of patient care areas.
