Exceptional Education Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Effective 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR)

SUMMARY
Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate and monitor
students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity.
Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Arizona Special Education Certificate - Hearing Impaired
Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement
ASL

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

COMMENTS

Effective: 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR
Location: Miles Exploratory Learning Center -Broadway & Highland Area 1 position available 1.0 FTE / 7.5 Hours per day

FTE: 1.0 FTE / 7.5 hours per day Multi Grade - k-2 with co-teacher
Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language. For more information on salary schedule, please reference the Employee Agreements Webpage.

New Teachers to the District may be eligible for a one-time recruitment stipend (up to $5,000) if hired into one of the following positions: Ex Ed, Math, Science.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
