The Executive Assistant to eBay’s SVP and Chief Legal Officer will partner with and manage strategic support for a fast-paced executive in a fast-paced company. This Executive Assistant is an energetic, positive, organized, proactive and detail-oriented individual with the ability to anticipate needs and proactively solve for them, as well as finding joy in developing creative solutions to problems we didn’t know we had. You have an outstanding sense of humor with the ability to always see the opportunity in challenges, and you do all of this while being team-oriented, highly collaborative and exhibiting a passion for eBay’s mission of connecting people, creating communities, and empowering economic opportunity for all. 

This high visibility role will also work closely with our Board of Directors, the Executive Leadership Team, and their supporting C-level Executive Assistants. It requires agility, the ability to move and act very quickly, and real-time, independent judgment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the CLO’s internal and external calendars, at times making real time adjustments and ensuring days go to plan (if not the plan we had at the beginning of the day, a new plan devised during the day!), You will do this  using insight, judgement, prioritization skills and willingness to make a decision. 

Prepare and manage confidential information, maintaining good practice with integrity and practicing diplomacy of the highest order.  

Help to plan, manage logistics, and attend events such as department offsites (which can occasionally be outside of the Bay Area), site-visits, and team events. 

Coordinate all travel arrangements and accommodations for the CLO, arranging complex and detailed domestic and international travel plans, itineraries, and agendas including meetings and events with government officials and foreign dignitaries. 

Create and submit expense reports and proactively compile receipts for reimbursement. 

Support the CLO in meetings, managing and following up on any action items that follow. 

Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters pertaining to the CLO, including those of a highly confidential, personal, and critical nature. 

Partner with the Communications team to develop a department communications cadence and calendar and execute key messages or otherwise ensure that they are executed. 

Occasionally serve as additional support for the Board of Directors and Committees of the Board, including scheduling meetings, arranging for travel and accommodations, and supporting the preparation and posting on board portal of documents.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrated executive admin C-suite experience and exposure, ideally for a CLO/CFO/CEO. 

Great team player with outstanding interpersonal skills, sound judgment, discretion, calm demeanor, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Exceptional verbal and written communication and project management skills, including an ability to communicate effectively at an executive level. 

Ability to prioritize work and trade-offs against critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment. 

Exceptional eye for detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. 

Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive issues and tasks to completion. 

Strong technical skills: proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Slack and GoogleDocs.  

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, subtlety and tact. 

Extremely organized with exceptional follow through and an ability to give confidence that you’ve “got it” (and actually “have it”)  

Ability to maintain a sense of calm and humor in high intensity situations. 

Ability to create and maintain trusting effective relationships. 

LOCATION:  San Jose, CA.  In the office on average 3 days a week, depending on work and travel schedules. 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$68,800 - $139,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
