Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Purpose of Position
The Global HSDC Account Executive reports to the VP of Data Centers and is primarily responsible for the development and performance of all sales activity for Corning Optical Communications related to assigned Global Data Center accounts. The Global HSDC Account Executive will manage a team of Global Account Managers and work closely with both assigned accounts and regional overlays. The Global HSDC Account Executive will set strategy and provide leadership around the priorities that specifically address the achievement of maximum profitability and revenue growth in line with company vision and values. A key priority will be to delight our customers by managing expectations and striving to constantly improve the customers experience as they do business with Corning Optical Communications.

 

Key Responsibilities
• Lead a global, cross-functional team to deliver a world-class experience to customers that results in significant revenue, share, and profitability growth.
• Collaborate with key leaders/teams in PLM, Market Development, AIR/Technology, Operations, Manufacturing and Customer Experience to drive results.
• Identify and develop key relationships within assigned customers to drive long-term contractual relationships, innovation opportunities, and cost optimization ideas.
• Drive strong adoption of COC solutions throughout the assigned accounts, with a focus on innovation adoption.
• Deliver key financial results for assigned DCBU customers, to include revenue and gross margin.
• Develop and deliver account plans and relationship maps to ensure growth in market share at assigned accounts.
• Identify and create strategic alignment/linkage across multiple functions and levels of assigned accounts and DCBU functions.
• Identify strategic opportunities with adjacent ecosystem partners (channels, integrators, etc) to enhance the Corning value prop and solve key customer challenges.
• Ensure best-in-class service performance (SLA) to assigned accounts in conjunction with the dedicated, cross-functional support team.
• Identify and develop talent as a senior commercial leader.

 

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree; MBA desired
• Strong commercial background working with and understanding customers and applications
• Proven track of leading global account or sales teams in large complex organizations
• Experience working with large Data Center accounts is strongly preferred
• Experience with developing new business in large global customers
• Ability to motivate teams and drive indirect reports
• Excellent communication skills, habits and follow-up
• Strong oral and written presentation skills
• International experience highly desirable
• Special emphasis on SalesForce.Com, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

The range for this position is $203,177.00 - $279,369.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
