DescriptionAbout the ClientA well-established luxury design firm based in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood, founded in 2015. While the company has built its reputation in the luxury design industry, this role will specifically support one of the co-owners who leads a separate investment initiative focused on software company acquisitions. Operating from their modern studio space, the company combines creative excellence with strategic business expansion. This role, while housed within the company's organizational structure, focuses entirely on the investment expansion initiatives.

This position combines financial analysis expertise with M&A research to support the company's software acquisition strategy. The Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist will conduct comprehensive market research and financial analysis of potential acquisition targets, while developing detailed valuations and financial models. This role is crucial for identifying and evaluating potential software company acquisition targets while ensuring thorough financial due diligence.

The Impact you’ll makeInvestment Research:

\n\nConduct thorough research on potential investment opportunities, including market analysis, company performance, and industry trends.\nAnalyze financial statements, market data, and other relevant information to assess investment viability.\nPrepare detailed reports and summaries to present research findings.\nFinancial Planning & Modeling \nDevelop comprehensive financial models for acquisitions\nConduct benchmarking and process analysis\nCreate detailed presentations on financial findings\nGenerate forecasts and profitability analyses\nData Management & Reporting \nMaintain and update Notion database\nDocument research findings and contact information\nTrack and analyze key performance metrics\nCreate executive summaries and presentations\nTransaction Support \nAssist in due diligence processes\nSupport outreach to company owners/founders\nHelp prepare acquisition materials\nDocument potential deal structures\nAdministrative Support:\nManage and organize the investor’s calendar, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings.\nHandle correspondence, manage email inbox, and filter communications as needed.\nOrganize and maintain investment documents, records, and databases.\n

Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseRequired:\nBackground in investment banking or private equity\nStrong financial modeling and analysis expertise\nTransaction management experience\nExperience with business valuations\nAdvanced Excel and financial software proficiency\nData analysis and presentation skills\nUnderstanding of software industry metrics\nWFH Set-Up:\nComputer with at least 8GB RAM, an Intel i5 core processor/AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and up.\nInternet speed of at least 40MBPS\nHeadset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam\nBack-up computer and internet connection\nQuiet, dedicated workspace at home\n\n\nYour Superpowers:\n
