This position’s primary responsibility is to provide administrative support to the Plant Manager.  Additional support is also provided to other managers and associates, if requested.  This position oversees the completion of small project work and delegation of administrative tasks to other administrative assistants that support various functions.  Interacts with BD sites worldwide with an emphasis on an administrative awareness for alignment and harmonization.  Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.  Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function.  Ability to read and write and converse in English.  Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1.    Performs a wide variety of administrative tasks to support the Plant Manager.
2.    Organization of visits and meetings for worldwide groups and/or BD dignitaries, including but not limited to travel, agendas, presentation preparation, minute taking, and logistic planning.
3.    Organizes, prioritizes and delegates various tasks and responsibilities to other administrative assistants to provide support and help for all other function areas.
4.    Works with Executive Assistants from other BD plants to coordinate events and processes and to facilitate an effective interaction between each.
5.    Supports training initiatives as requested (new hire orientation, etc.) 
6.    Leads, facilitates, or works as a team member to improve processes and work flow related to administrative responsibilities.
7.    Acts as a liaison between BD and the BD Retiree/Alumni organization.
8.    Works with outside organizations (Chamber of Commerce, non-profit groups, etc.) as needed to support donation process and promoting BD’s purpose.
9.    Proficient in prioritizing, multi-tasking, and accomplishing work on-time and accurately with many interruptions.  
10.    Assists in planning and supporting activities for associates.
11.    Must maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of some information being processed.
12.    Coordinate and publish the plant newsletter.
13.    Manage BDtv updates
14.    Other duties as required to support the needs of the business. A viable and robust working relationship with the plant manager that facilitates effective accomplishment of various responsibilities. 
15.    Effective management of administrative resources to create and accomplish a smooth working environment through prompt, professional, and accurate support.

Minimum Education : 
             This position has the Following educational requirement
 

Required:

Associates Degree – Business, Administrative, Industrial management or related field

Minimum Experience:

2 years administrative experience.

Previous experience in manufacturing and Pharm Systems is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills
Proficient/Working KSA:

Knowledgeable operating office equipment, and comfortable learning new technologies.

Computer software:

Microsoft Excel: Basic skill

Microsoft Word: Advanced or Specialized

Microsoft Power Point: Advanced or Specialized

Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including written and verbal skills, feedback skills, and influence without authority/negotiation

Reliability


Leadership skills

2nd language (Spanish) and international environment experience is preferred
