Emerson is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative support to the Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer with minimal direction and guidance, you will be based at Emerson's Global Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Provide high-level administrative support and assistance to the Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer and/or other assigned C-level leadership staff as requested. Manage confidential projects and information with a high level of discretion, particularly matters that have a direct impact on Emerson’s global operations. Effectively connect with personnel from all levels of the organization, both internally and externally to complete assigned tasks. Screens calls, letters and/or visitors and acts as the first point of contact for outside inquiries. Answers routine questions, furnishes information, and advises inquires to the appropriate department. Developing an in-depth knowledge of Emerson’s business, policies, procedures, and personnel is required. Ability to prioritize, anticipate and continually strive to pro-actively identify the needs of multiple executives, while effectively employing trouble shooting and independent decision making at times when quick solutions and service are needed. Compose correspondence and prepare reports requiring information from a variety of sources where the format is often undefined, assuring a high level of attention to detail with respect to grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Skilled in the Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Perform administrative support relative to daily correspondence, reports, presentations, mail distribution, handle incoming calls, monitor incoming emails for urgency and responses needed, order supplies, copying, handle daily requests from departments, and special projects as required. Organizes and expedites flow of paperwork through the Executives’ offices. Responds to correspondence and requests, outlining specifics of what needs to be completed and/or instituting follow-up action. Work with Executive Management and Administrative Assistants where required. Coordinate complex scheduling and heavy calendar management, ensuring timely and accurate flow of information. Handle all travel arrangements, including domestic and international air, car rental, hotel, and coordinate schedule/agendas for out-of-town meetings, including providing ground transportation arrangements for each location. Role requires considerable independent judgment and initiative. The incumbent will be required to anticipate needs and accomplish tasks without direction in most cases. For This Role, You Will Need: Relevant years of professional level experience required working in an executive assistant role supporting C-level executives commensurate with the level of this position. Confidently taking initiative, exercising discretion and sound judgment, and ensuring a high level of confidentiality. Essential to have meeting planning, event management experience and international booking experience. Essential to have excellent Microsoft Office skills, a solid understanding of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Essential to be able to communicate effectively both in oral presentation and written format and be able to create effective reports, presentations, and business correspondence. Exceptional attention to detail; ability to manage multiple deadlines of varying importance. Demonstrated collegiality, team orientation, positive attitude, perseverance, calm demeanor, determination, and ongoing desire to learn, grow and contribute are all desired. Ability to communicate professionally on written/verbal/personal basis among a variety of personality types. Able to manage multiple projects promptly and accurately. Ability to professionally collaborate across all levels of management and their support teams in a highly confidential manner. Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs and time pressures. Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Bachelor’s degree preferred 5+ years of related experience required working in an executive assistant role supporting C-level executives.
