The Office of Boards and Commissions oversees the appointment process for 330+ Boards and Commissions for the Governor's Office. Boards and Commissions is an external facing department in the Governor's Office, as they help the public navigate the appointment process. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, a self-starter, hard working, calm under pressure, has strong communications skills and has a positive outlook.

Organizational Relationships: This position reports to the Director of Boards and Commissions. This position has supervisory responsibility over the interns.
FLSA Classification : Exempt
Salary: $ 56,500-$62,800
Summary of Functions:
You will help work with the Boards and Commission team to help oversee the appointment process for over 330+ boards, commissions, task forces, and committees across the state that are appointed by the Governor. Help make recommendations to the Governor and Chief of Staff on who should be appointed after robust vetting and recruitment processes. Work with the Agencies to ensure their recommendations are timely and thoughtful. Also help manage and improve Boards and Commissions processes. This role will help develop and enforce office policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and work on continued improvements to boards and commissions processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Quickly manage scheduling, appointments and calendars for the Director of Boards and Commissions and as necessary for Deputy Directors of Boards and Commissions.
+ Coordinate speaking engagements and create marketing materials for them.
+ Manage the Boards and Commission's intern program, including oversight of tasks, training, and ongoing support.
+ Design, implement and document office procedures.
+ Provide information about Boards and Commissions to stakeholders.
+ Prepare meeting materials, scan documents, and electronic document creation or modification as needed.
+ Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with all levels of stakeholders, including internal customers, the public, and other agencies.
+ File, retrieve, and prepare documents, correspondence and reports.
+ Answer public email questions, telephone, check voicemail messages and respond as appropriate.
+ Respond to public email inquiries, telephone calls, and voicemails promptly.
+ Ensure all externally posted content follows accessibility guidelines and standards.
+ Assist with tasks deemed necessary by the Director & Deputy Directors including, although not limited to:
+ Draft executive orders, letters, memos, and other documents
+ Maintain and update files
+ Process Executive Orders following Governor’s signature
+ Assist in managing Board and Commission interns and oversee intern tasks
+ Manage the boards and commissions shared drive and ensure that boards and commissions documents are up to date and accessible
+ Maintain an effective information tracking system for diversity reporting, new applications received, background checks, call lists, rejection letters, and certificates
+ Special duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Education/Experience: 0-2 years related work experience required.
Substitutions: Appropriate related education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
