Leads the development, implementation, and integration of strategic plans with enterprise IS standards, selection of software applications, and budgets. Ensures new information technologies result in efficient and cost-effective solutions while ensuring solid integration with Sutter Health information technologies and alignment with objectives. Establishes, communicates, and maintains enterprise technology architecture, and ensures architecture supports the business' growing and changing needs. Coordinates with Sutter Health IS to deliver IS service to internal and external clients. Specific focus for Business Analytics, and Insights: This person will lead a strategic and highly capable analytics and insights organization. The selected candidate will provide overall direction and execution related to the identification, build, rollout, and interpretation of business analytics and insights within the digital organization. This position uses an ability to address the unique data, analytics, and insights challenges and opportunities in an integrated provider health system that includes a mix of operational markets, service lines, medical foundations, medical groups, and domains including human resources (HR), finance, etc. Specific focus for Data and Cloud Architecture and Engineering: This person will lead a strategic and highly capable data and cloud architecture and engineering organization. The selected candidate will provide overall direction and execution related to data management including the architecture, design, and implementation of Sutter Health’s data and pipelines. Through a migration to the cloud, this role ensures that the data infrastructure is robust, scalable, and aligned with a common data model. This position uses deep understanding and prior experience implementing cloud data architecture, dev ops, and modeling on a modern cloud data, analytics, and artificial intelligence platform. Specific Focus for Application and Platform Infrastructure and Operations: This person will lead the overall operations including applications and platform infrastructure management for the data, analytics, and insights organization. The selected candidate will provide overall direction and execution. The position uses extensive background and experience with application support and maintenance, including legacy application support and ongoing data products support. The position will be responsible for the data and analytics platform engineering support and maintenance, including systems optimization and incident response and recovery. This position will also drive the data analytics and visualization support and maintenance, including cloud deployments. The leader will blend a deep knowledge of supporting critical data and analytics systems, including data platforms, cloud infrastructure, visualization platforms, and marketplace, coupled with the right experience in data governance, compliance, and security. This role requires a significant amount of relationship building, change management and communications, driving adoption and metrics, and owning the overall support roadmap for all data and analytics products. **Job Description** : **EDUCATION:** _Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma._ Bachelor's: Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Business, Healthcare , or related field **TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:** 18 years recent relevant experience **SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:** Functional expertise in data center, network engineering and operations, telecommunications engineering and operations to include call center management and optimization, wide and local area networking engineering and operations, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework focus on service delivery, risk management, budget management, and organizational management. Knowledge of healthcare business acumen with a background in EPIC e-HR implementations. Knowledge and understanding of technological hardware and software requirements in clinical/ambulatory setting, physician management and financial areas. Diverse knowledge in software and hardware technology trends. Working knowledge to establish and deliver on key performance indicators that ensure high availability and integrity of systems. Sound understanding of healthcare operations including, but not limited to hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and information technology needs. The leader should have extensive knowledge of Sutter Health or an equivalent organization and experience in relationship management, process excellence, program management, and cross-functional team leadership. Strong communication skills and a proven track record in technology, governance, operational processes, and digital transformation are essential. The leader must have advanced expertise in Azure Databricks and cloud technologies and extensive experience manipulating data using SQL, Python, or R. Proficiency in constructing data pipelines, implementing data security within cloud environments, and migrating legacy systems to cloud platforms is essential. Leadership qualities should include fostering innovation, guiding cloud transformation, and mentoring in cloud-first engineering practices. Specific experience: + Comprehensive Data Migration Plan and Execution: The individual will have successfully developed and implemented a migration plan from Cloudera Hadoop and MS SQL to Azure Databricks, focusing on minimizing operational disruptions and enhancing data infrastructure scalability and performance. Developed the right Dev Ops and processes to implement successfully. + Development of a Healthcare Provider Common Data Model: Established a robust common data model within Azure Databricks (Hub) to standardize data across the organization, facilitating the efficient development of new data products tailored to healthcare provider needs. Ensured best-in-class data and cloud architecture. + Architecting Scalable and High-Performance Data Pipelines: Designed and implemented new data pipelines that prioritize scalability and performance, ensuring the organization's data architecture supports growing data volumes and complex analytics requirements effectively. **SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE FOR APPLICATION AND PLATFORM INFRASTRUCTURE AND OPERATIONS** Deep knowledge of EPIC (our electronic health record) and an understanding of deployment and maintenance of analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities is essential. Experience with transitioning to Dev Ops for chosen data products. + Supported and maintained Cloud platform engineering and maintenance for data and analytics platforms including Databricks, Azure, etc. Ensured that the systems are operating smoothly, appropriate patches and maintenance are performed in a timely manner and drove incident response and recovery for these applications. Deep experience in managing cloud data resources and consumption (including compute, network, and storage). + Experience driving EPIC Cogito tool suite, including end-to-end support of the Cogito platform, upgrade planning, integration with Databricks architecture, ongoing support and maintenance, and active support of all EPIC capabilities for analytics, insights, and AI. + Owned and maintained data analytics support for all visualization and integration platforms, own support strategy and roadmap for these platforms. Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Utah Pay Range is $99.43 to $159.09 / hour. _The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
