Job Summary Working as the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations for an amenity space servicing a multi-tenant corporate office. You will prepare or direct the preparation of meals in accordance with corporate programs and guidelines, while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment for the staff. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary professional. Key Responsibilities: Operational & Strategic Leadership: + Oversee all kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, and presentation, while maintaining high culinary standards for a grab-and-go market with coffee offerings, conference catering and events for a multi-tenant building, and a public-facing breakfast and lunch eatery. + Implement and maintain best practices for kitchen organization, food preparation, and plating consistency. + Work closely with front-of-house leadership, catering, and event teams to ensure seamless coordination and exceptional guest experiences. + Establish and enforce policies that align with company goals, industry standards, and food safety regulations. Culinary Leadership & Team Development: + Lead, mentor, and inspire the kitchen team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. + Implement training programs to enhance skills, efficiency, and food safety and sanitation protocols. + Promote a positive work environment that encourages professional growth, accountability, and strong team morale. + Identify and nurture top talent, ensuring strong succession planning for key kitchen positions. Menu Innovation & Culinary Excellence: + Design and execute creative, high-quality menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current food trends to enhance tenant participation. + Ensure menu items align with brand identity, profitability goals, and operational capabilities. + Regularly review and refine recipes, presentation, and portion control to maintain high standards. + Stay ahead of industry trends and introduce innovative culinary techniques and offerings. + Makes all decisions regarding utilization of leftover food products staying within Company guidelines for such products. Financial & Business Acumen: + Manage kitchen spend, monitor food costs, and implement strategies to manage food waste. + Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and industry benchmarks to make informed business decisions. + Identify opportunities for revenue growth, including special promotions, seasonal offerings, and catering expansion. Food Safety & Compliance: + Establishes and maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas. Ensures that kitchen staff follows and completes schedules as assigned. + Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures as evidenced through local health department and third-party audits. + Follows facility, department, and Company safety policies and procedures to include occurrence reporting. Preferred Qualifications: + A.S. or equivalent experience + Minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training + Extensive catering experience a plus + High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable + Institutional and batch cooking experiences + Hands-on chef experience a must + Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation + Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet + NYC Food Handlers Certification required Apply to Flik today!
