We're looking for an experienced Executive Communications Lead to join our Communications and Marketing team. In this role, you’ll help the dean and the school’s senior leaders create strategic communications that articulate the GSB's vision and direction. This includes developing remarks, presentations, and articles that reinforce key messages, and leveraging existing and developing new channels or events that provide opportunities to engage with internal and external audiences. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with faculty, alumni, staff, and students to develop content that strengthens, extends, and protects the reputation of Stanford GSB. You will bring strategic communications experience, creativity, and big-picture thinking while managing a steady flow of remarks and writing. You will have excellent judgment and be able to understand the varied perspectives of a diverse set of constituents. You will have experience acting as a thought partner with senior leaders in business and/or academia and have excellent writing skills. You are a successful collaborator and have the ability to work across all organizations at the GSB. This is a full-time position located on the Stanford GSB campus in Stanford, California. **Your primary responsibilities* include** **:** + Develop, execute, edit, and oversee complex written communications, including key content messages for remarks, speeches, presentations, magazine columns, correspondence, and opinion pieces. + Own and manage internal dean’s events – town halls, staff meetings, etc. Be willing to explore new ways to accomplish communication goals. + Design and execute strategic communications for GSB leadership that articulate key messages to a wide range of constituents. Be willing to challenge the status quo and provide ideas about how to make communications exceptional in content and format. + Build strong relationships and provide strategic and tactical communications advice to the dean and senior leaders. + Work closely with teams across the school — including GSB External Relations, MBA & MSx Programs, Admissions, faculty, and other stakeholders — to enable comprehensive communications that are reinforced by the many impactful research programs and people stories at the GSB. + Be an active member of the Strategic Communications team and collaborate on global media opportunities, reputation management, and issue management. + Attend and support the leadership at high-impact events. This may include traveling to these events. + Pitch in on a wide range of communications tasks. **To be successful in this position, you will bring** **:** + Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience. + Excellent written communication skills, outstanding research and analytical skills, and skills in conceptual editing, copy editing, and proofreading + Ability to work collaboratively with internal communications groups across campus + Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a variety of people + Mastery of skills in journalism and public relations + Demonstrated public speaking skills + Ability to work a hybrid schedule + Ability to work nights and weekends as needed + Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed **In addition, preferred requirements include** **:** + Experience working in academia + Proven ability to provide deep and original thinking about complex issues **The expected pay range for this position is $149,477 to $177,035 per year.** **Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
