You are a seasoned IT expert with a strategic business mind. You're not just an IT professional; you're a visionary leader helping shape the business transformation of BC Ferries. As part of the Senior IT Leadership team, you are responsible for short-term and long-term business & IT transformation strategies overseeing a portfolio of programs & projects that drive business outcomes.

 

As an Executive Director, Business Transformation, you work closely with Senior Leadership across the organization, developing short-term and long-term strategic roadmaps that meet business goals & objectives. You are directly responsible for overseeing the development of IT strategy and ensuring successful delivery of IT programs and projects.

 

You play a key role in designing and building a transformational delivery capability from the ground up. You bring a unique blend of hands-on experience in large scale program/project delivery that will be required as BC Ferries matures its internal delivery capability. In addition, you are a trusted business partner who thrives on tackling complex challenges across the organization.

 

The Role

Reporting to the VP and Chief Information Officer, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

Developing short-term and long-term business transformation strategies, focusing on leveraging technology solutions and business design thinking to optimize business processes and capabilities;Providing strategic direction on IT investments, ensuring IT portfolio is aligned and funded to create and maintain the solutions needed to meet business values;Establishing a Transformation Management Office for BC Ferries’ Transformation Program to execute our short- and mid-term strategy on technology modernization;Overseeing IT project governance including IT project business case development, spending, audit, compliance, measurements, reporting and benefit realization;Collaborating with cross-functional business areas to identify opportunities for business capability maturity, including process improvements, innovation and organizational design;Leading change management efforts to ensure seamless adoption of technology-driven transformation, addressing resistance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement;Working closely with IT leaders to assess current IT capabilities, identify areas for improvement and recommend transformational solutions;Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess effectiveness of initiatives and take corrective actions if required;Direct management of IT Strategy, IT programs & projects;

 

What you bring to the team

You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline. You bring minimum 10+ years of experience and a proven track record in business transformation with an annual IT portfolio over $20 million. You have strong work ethic with self-accountability for high quality deliverables and achieving corporate goals. You also bring a passion for developing people, inspiring and empowering others to excellence.

Additional information

The target salary range: $197,600 - $247,000 per annum.  The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity.
